The main mission for BICfB is to guarantee Belgian French-speaking academic community (professors, researchers, students) an access to scientific electronic documentation: databases, e-journals, reference works, e-books.

To reach this task, the non-profit organization will take care of the management and the coordination of joint electronic resource purchase projects (electronic journals or databases). The BICfB organizes the steps of buying or subscriptions : it participates to previous studies of needs and offers ; then to the selection of resources ; after it is the unique interlocutor during the negotiation with publishers and at least guarantees the organization of access to those new resources. Each member concludes order agreements and pays individually its invoice.
