The Linking project constitutes the second shutter of the BICTEL/e project. It relates the interconnection of the scientific electronic resources, in strong increase thanks to the purchases/subscriptions in consortium and the setting of "OpenArchives" and ETD (electronic theses) servers. The project led in 2005, each university consortium having set up an "open linking" application.

Technologies of "linking" provide the nine universities a new information retrieval environment, allowing the users to exploit in an optimal way the multiple electronic resources placed at their disposal and to lead to relevant results through an intuitive process. The linking enables a direct and transparent passage from a reference to the text to which it refers as well as catalogues, citation databases, factual databases, on keywords or single identifiers basis.
